CDC Rowland is the newest reconstituted brown flax. It is a high-yielding, large-seeded variety with excellent resistance to shattering, capsule loss and lodging.

CDC Rowland is a robust and high-yielding variety, with a higher 1000 seed weight.
Agronomic Traits:
CDC Rowland demonstrates excellent resistance to shattering, capsule loss, and lodging. It exhibits a low tendency to produce basal branching.
Origin & Breeding History:
CDC Rowland originated from a controlled cross between two F6 breeding lines at the University of Saskatchewan in 2009. It underwent rigorous selection based on yield, days to maturity, percent seed oil content, and iodine value on a dry weight basis, ensuring its superior performance.
Field Trials:
Extensive field trials were conducted at the Kernen Crop Research Farm, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, in 2017 and 2018. CDC Rowland showed consistently higher yields than the other varieties.
