CDC Redmoon Red Lentil

CDC Redmoon is the highest-yielding variety of small red lentils which is Not imidazolinone tolerant.

Seed size is slightly less compared to CDC Maxim but seed thickness is higher which makes CDC Redmoon preferable for lentil dehulling.

Characteristics are quoted from the 2023 SaskSeed Guide:

  • 14% yield increase compared to the CDC Maxim
  • Good resistance to Ascochyta Blight & Anthracnose Race 1
  • The average seed weight is 41 g/1000 seeds (+1g from CDC Maxim)

CDC Redmoon red lentil offers impressive yield, surpassing CDC Maxim by 114% in brown and dark brown soil zones and 106% in black and dark gray soil zones. Seed coat color, maturity, plant height and disease tolerance are similar to CDC Maxim. CDC Redmoon features a slightly smaller seed diameter, but it compensates with increased seed thickness.

Not imidazolinone tolerant.
